Offer prices for US import rebar are stable week-on-week, but sources tell SteelOrbis that interest in imports is rising now that shipments are scheduled for early Q1 arrival. Buyers are reportedly “mostly confident” that import rebar offers placed now will still be priced competitively in a few months compared to domestic offerings.

For now, US import rebar offers from Algeria and Egypt are still in the range of $36.50-$37.50 cwt. ($805-$827/mt or $730-$750/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports. While offers from Mexico are still around $39.00-$40.00 cwt. ($860-$882/mt or $780-$800/nt) DDP Houston, sources report some quotes below that level.
