Low interest in US rebar imports is partially due to overall summer slowness in the market, but sources continue to report US domestic mill willingness to be flexible with orders when presented with import quotes. As such, booking activity within the US import rebar market remains slow, and prices have not moved much as a result.

US import rebar offers from Algeria are still around $38.00-$39.00 cwt. ($838-$860/mt or $760-$780/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports, with Egyptian rebar offers heard around the same level. Mexican rebar offers are also unchanged week-on-week at $41.50-$42.50 cwt. ($915-$937/mt or $830-$850/nt) DDP Houston.
