Sources tell SteelOrbis that demand for rebar in the US is decent enough for mills to feel “no pressure” to lower prices, however there are still reports of foreign-fighter deals when buyers bring serious orders to mills. Domestic rebar mills are still reportedly eager to maintain market share against imports, and though they are not quoting “too aggressively,” there are still deals to be had.

However, the deals are not widespread enough to shift the overall spot market range for US domestic rebar, which is still trending at $43.50-$44.50 cwt. ($959-$981/mt or $870-$890/nt) ex-mill in the Midwest, and $42.50-$43.50 cwt. ($937-$959/mt or $850-$870/nt) ex-mill on the East coast.
