Demand for rebar in the US is decent enough that US rebar mills are not “desperate” for orders, according to sources, but prices are still trending stable-to-soft considering foreign fighter deals are still on the table. Sources say US rebar mills are not “aggressively” counter-quoting import offers, but they’re offering enough of a deal to lure buyers away from the import market.

As such, the general spot market price range for US domestic rebar is stable week-on-week, with offers still trending at $43.50-$44.50 cwt. ($959-$981/mt or $870-$890/nt) ex-mill in the Midwest, and $42.50-$43.50 cwt. ($937-$959/mt or $850-$870/nt) ex-mill on the East coast.
