SteelOrbis has heard that Turkish producers are offering mesh quality wire rods for export at $625-630/mt FOB on actual weight basis for late May / June shipments.
The wire rod market seems strong for the time being. The latest bookings were at $620/mt FOB. Although Chinese offers to Europe are at $580-590/mt CFR, Turkish producers are able to conclude sales to Europe due to the advantages of small tonnage and early shipment. Furthermore, the fact that Egyptian mills are not able to give offers to Europe is also to the advantage of the Turkish mills.
