Turkish rebar export market

SteelOrbis is informed that Turkish mills are offering rebars for export at $485-495/mt FOB on actual weight basis for February shipments to destinations other than the US and Gulf markets. The increase in the Euro / US Dollar exchange rate seems to have animated customers in Europe. If the European domestic mills are able to increase their prices before Christmas, the imported rebar market in Europe may see a further increase in activity. Turkish producers are trying to increase their offers to $500/mt CFR level on a theoretical weight basis for the UAE market. The export offers are higher in Turkey's southern region since domestic rebar prices there are at $520/mt.
