Turkish mills have mostly kept their official wire rod prices stable, while wire rod prices have decreased by $7-10/mt in the Izmir and Iskenderun regions to $665-695/mt ex-works compared to Friday, May 12. Kardemir has announced its 6-27 mm wire rod price at $675/mt ex-works today.

Icdas has kept its official wire rod price at $695/mt ex-works today. An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 13,400/mt ex-works ($678/mt), excluding VAT, falling by TRY 300/mt ($19/mt). It is worth mentioning that, although Marmara-based wire rod prices are stable, the mill has set its exchange rate at $1 = TRY 20.50 for today's pricing. In addition, an Izmir-based mill has set its exchange rate at $1 = TRY 20.24 for its prices today. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 19.76 for today's pricing as no specific exchange rate is mentioned for this region.

A few wire rod buyers are taking their time regarding new purchases until their previously-ordered import wire rods arrive in Turkey, and so they are not in a rush to restock material and are purchasing only in line with their daily needs.

Most suppliers are offering for June delivery, while a limited tonnage is available either from stocks or late May delivery.
