Turkish mills have cut their official wire rod prices by $4-5/mt in the Iskenderun and Izmir regions amid the ongoing currency fluctuations, while wire rod prices in the Thrace and Marmara regions have remained unchanged, as compared to Wednesday, September 20. Sources report additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers.

An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 15,750/mt ($578/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 27.27 for pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally.

Sources report that an Iskenderun-based rebar re-roller has recently started producing welded wire mesh. Most welded wire mesh producers are proceeding with their daily purchases due to their export sales, while some end-users are maintaining a wait-and-see stance due to their stocks of import material.
