Over the past week, Turkish mills have kept their official wire rod prices stable in the Marmara and Thrace regions, while wire rod prices have fallen by $5-10/mt in the rest of the country. According to sources, additional discounts of $5-10/mt are applicable for serious buyers in the Marmara and Thrace regions.

An Iskenderun-based mill issued its official wire rod price at TRY 15,600/mt ($580/mt) ex-works yesterday. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 26.89 for pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally. Most local buyers are monitoring the import scrap price trend and are not in a rush to restock material so far.
