Turkish mill Kardemir opens its domestic rebar and billet sales

As per its new price list dated February 5, Turkish steel producer Kardemir has opened its domestic rebar sales. Accordingly, Kardemir has opened its domestic sales for rebar at the level of TRY 1,119/mt ($457/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, for 1,000 mt and above orders, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral. Compared to the price list issued on December 18, the producer's rebar prices have decreased by TRY 100/mt, though prices on US dollar basis have decreased by $45/mt due to fluctuation of the exchange rate.
 
On the same date, Turkish steel producer Kardemir also opened its billet sales. Accordingly, Kardemir has opened its sales for S235JR grade (St37) billets at the level of $400/mt ex-works, excluding VAT, and has also opened its sales for MT III-A grade billets at $405/mt ex-works, excluding VAT, with 50 percent on cash payment basis, with 50 percent on 45-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral. Compared to the price list issued on November 21, the producer has reduced its billet prices by $15/mt.
