SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that ex-Turkey merchant bar offers have moved down by $30/mt over the past week. With the impact of the gradual declines registered in import billet prices for Turkey each week, foreign buyers of Turkish merchant bar have been maintaining a wait-and-see approach. Thus, demand in the export markets for Turkish merchant bar has been slack, while Turkish merchant bar exporters have revised their prices downwards.

Export offers from Turkish merchant bar producers are at the following levels:

Product

Price ($/mt)

FOB

Angle

560-580

IPN-UPN

560-580

Flat bar

580-620

IPE

610-640
