Following the sharp declines recorded in import scrap prices in Turkey, buyers in the international markets have postponed their Turkish merchant bar purchases due to their expectation of a decline in Turkish merchant bar export offers. As a result, demand for Turkish merchant bar in domestic mills' target markets is at low levels. Meanwhile, Turkish steel producers have kept their merchant bar export prices stable over the past two weeks.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

490-500

IPN-UPN

500-510

Flat bar

520-530

All prices are on FOB basis and for March shipment.
