Today, December 25, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 100/mt (4-5/mt) compared to Thursday, December 21, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 20,700-21,300/mt or $590-607/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 29.26.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable at $620/mt ex-works today. The general official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $595-630/mt versus $620-635/mt ex-works a week ago. Sources report a few mills are applying aggressive pricing policy and giving additional discount for serious buyers. However most buyers are refraining from new purchases for now.
