Turkish domestic rebar spot prices rise as week ends

Today, May 12, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by another TRY 200-350/mt ($7-14/mt) from the previous day, amid ongoing currency fluctuations and the unclear financial situation in the country. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 15,700-15,900/mt or $678-687/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.

Icdas A.S. has issued its official rebar price at $685/mt ex-works today. A few mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are offering rebar at $670-680/mt ex-works.

An Iskenderun-based mill is offering rebar at TRY 15,800/mt ex-works, equal to $682/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate, while a re-roller in the region opened its rebar sales at TRY 15,750/mt ex-warehouse, equal to $680/mt at the current exchange rate earlier today and closed its rebar sales in the afternoon.
