Today, August 14, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 600-700/mt ($18-21/mt) following Icdas's latest price hike, compared to Thursday, August 10, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 18,800-19,000/mt or $579-585/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 27.06.

Icdas A.S has raised its official rebar price by $20/mt to $590/mt ex-works today. Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are offering official rebar prices at $580-590/mt ex-works, rising by $20/mt over the same period.

One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 18,650 mt ($575/mt) ex-works today. In addition, Bastug Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 19,000/mt ($585/mt) ex-works today. The overall sentiment in the local Turkish rebar market is relatively positive and most buyers are monitoring the import scrap price trend closely.
