Turkish domestic rebar spot prices decline

Today, May 18, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 50-250/mt ($6-16/mt) compared to Monday, May 15, amid ongoing currency fluctuations and the unclear financial situation in the country. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 15,500-15,600/mt or $664-668/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 19.79.

Icdas A.S. has kept its official rebar price at $685/mt ex-works today. Sources report the local workable rebar price range varies at TRY 15,500-15,900/mt ($650-665/mt) ex-works when the exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 20.24, while a few mills are offering slightly higher levels.

All prices are ex-warehouse and on actual weight basis. Prices on Turkish lira basis include 18 percent VAT, while prices on US dollar basis exclude VAT.
