Turkish mills have decreased their official wire rod prices by $6-25/mt amid the recent increase in VAT rate and sluggish demand. Kardemir’s wire rod sales are still open, with its 6-27 mm wire rod price at $625/mt ex-works.

An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 15,900/mt ($609/mt) ex-works. One Marmara-based mill has cut its wire rod price by $20/mt this week. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 26,10 for today’s pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally.

Most suppliers are offering for end of July-August delivery, while a limited tonnage is available from stocks. Most local buyers exert pressure for additional discounts.
