Over the past week, Turkish official domestic merchant bar prices have mostly remained stable on Turkish lira basis, falling by $5/mt on US dollar basis, while merchant bar prices in the Karabuk region have decreased by TRY 300/mt ($14/mt). Sources report a few mills are applying aggressive pricing and additional TRY 100-200/mt discounts for serious buyers only. In addition, one Iskenderun-based mill has kept its equal angle price at TRY 19,850-20,160/mt ($614-623/mt) ex-works this week.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for April delivery or from stocks. A few re-rollers are also offering their HEA/HEB (550-700 mm, standard) at TRY 26,550/mt ($821/mt) for delivery to the Karabuk region.
The general sentiment on the demand side is sluggish and trading activity is slow.
