SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that ex-Turkey wire rod offers have remained unchanged since last week and are still standing at $585-600/mt. Demand from the export side is more active than in the domestic market and Turkish producers are concluding transactions mostly to the US and North African markets.

Although Chinese wire rod producers have already pulled out from the US market because of the ongoing antidumping investigation, prices for Chinese wire rod sitting at US ports are still attractive and these lower offers forestall Turkish producers' efforts to boost their prices. However, market sources think that after Chinese products are exhausted in the US market, transaction activity for Turkish wire rods will increase and the prices might trend upwards.

Ex-Turkey mesh quality wire rod offers to the US are currently at $620-630/mt CFR, while drawing quality wire rod offers stand at $635-655/mt CFR US Gulf coast ports.
