Today, May 11, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has cut its wire rod prices by $30/mt depending on product size, compared to Thursday, April 27, against the backdrop of currency fluctuations and the unclear situation in the import scrap segment ahead of the elections in Turkey on Sunday, May 14.

Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod is standing at $670/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $655/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $675/mt ex-works.

Kardemir’s 6-27 mm wire rod price is below the lower end of the general official price range for the same specifications in Turkey which varies at $665-675/mt ex-works.

Wire rod prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
