Earlier today, August 9, Turkey’s Kardemir issued its rebar price at TRY 15,000/mt ($555/mt), excluding VAT. It closed its rebar sales after a couple of hours. The mill’s rebar price indicated a TRY 650/mt ($27/mt) decrease, compared to Wednesday, July 19. According to sources, the producer succeeded in selling around 35,000 mt of rebar. "The mill's rebar price is relatively high for the market, while most buyers prefer to restock due to the mill’s advantageous payment terms" one source mentioned.

Kardemir’s rebar price was close to the lower end of the general official rebar price range in Turkey which has varied at $555-570/mt ex-works.

The mill was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 27.03
