SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that, after stepping back from the US wire rod market, Chinese suppliers have focused on the Middle Eastern markets, offering 6.5 mm mesh quality wire rod to Oman at $540-545/mt CFR. Market sources state that activity in the Omani wire rod market is currently on the strong side.

On the other hand, steel mesh prices in the local Omani market are at $630/mt ex-works.
