Market players indicate that tight availability has continued to prevail in the local Turkish rebar market, preventing domestic prices from declining despite low trading volumes. Meanwhile, local steelmakers' rebar offers are standing in the range of TRY 1,214-1,237/mt ($573-583/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT.
In the meantime, domestic producer Kardemir has received demand for a total of approximately 18,500 mt of rebar so far for its local rebar sales which were opened on June 25. Market players report further that Kardemir will not be able to supply rebar until July 23 due to a breakdown at its plant.
