The Italian domestic rebar market is very quiet at present. Due to low activity, in the past month local producers' domestic 12-28 mm rebar prices have decreased by about €25/mt ($28/mt) and are currently at €410-420/mt ($459-470/mt) ex-works.

Demand for Italian rebar is also very slack in the export market, where Italian producers' offers are still at €410-415/mt ($459-465/mt) FOB, for July shipment. Market sources state that Italian rebar sales volumes to Algeria are at very low levels due to Ramadan, which began on June 18. Algerian customers are in wait-and-see mode and are not buying at the moment.
