SteelOrbis has learned that the Italian mills are offering rebars to Romania at the price level of €520/mt ($763/mt) CFR on actual weight basis for October shipments. Meanwhile, it is heard that the Polish mills are offering rebars to the same country at the price level of €520-540/mt ($763-793/mt) CFR on actual weight basis and also for October shipments.

Although rebar price levels are hovering at below €600/mt ($881/mt) in the Italian domestic market, Italian mills are offering rebars to Romania at lower levels compared to the Italian market.

On the other hand, it is reported that the Romanian mills are offering rebars to their local market at the price level of €680/mt ($999/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT.

End-user demand is currently low in the local Romanian rebar market. However, the Romanian mills are unwilling to decrease their price levels since they hope that the market will go up again.
