Rebar market in the UAE

The price level of imported rebar in the UAE market is at around AED 2,320-2,350/mt ($632-640/mt) delivered to site on a theoretical weight basis for 3- and 5-month deferred payment, excluding VAT.

Domestic rebar prices have remained practically unchanged. Customers are trying to keep down import offers. The price levels quoted for Turkish origin rebars are at $590/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis. Some customers' expectations are lower than this price. Offers from Qatar are at $615/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis. Qatar rebar offers are usually higher than Turkish offers. However, if Turkish prices continue to decrease, Qatar offers may also follow in the same direction. Chinese offers are currently not able to compete with Turkish offers, and so there is not much demand for Chinese origin rebar.
