The price of rebar for export from Brazil is the same since a 12 percent increase in early December, a local exporter told SteelOrbis, quoting $520/mt, FOB conditions, as the reference for the CA-50 grade, 10mm thickness product.

In December, Gerdau exported 49,000 mt of rebar at $429/mt, while the Votorantim group exported 1,900 mt of the product at $519/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in October.

The main destinations of Brazilian rebar in December were Latin America (48,900 mt) and the Caribbean (2,000 mt).
