After a period of stability since early May, Brazilian exporters are negotiating export sales of rebar at $500/mt, FOB conditions, having the CA50 grade, 10mm thickness product as reference, against the previous reference price of $486/mt FOB.

A local source told SteelOrbis that, as with other steel products, rebar prices in the international markets are following an upward trend, adding that additional increases in the short term are not ruled out.

In June, for price deals probably closed in April, Gerdau exported rebar in average at $479/mt, while the Votorantim group exported $501/mt, both FOB conditions.
