According to market sources, wire rod prices in the local Qatari market are currently at $500-530/mt delivered, while Chinese wire rod offers to Qatar stand in the range of $440-450/mt CFR. Demand for wire rod has been at medium levels in the local Qatari market throughout December but due to high levels of Chinese wire rod inflow, market players are concerned about the stock levels being on the high side in the coming period. Additionally, Qatari buyers have started to show more interest in Chinese billet offers amid their increasing attractiveness against the local offers.
