SteelOrbis has been informed by market players that billet prices in the Turkish domestic market are currently ranging at $525-540/mt ex-works, indicating an increase of $10-15/mt since last week. Despite no recovery on the demand side in the Turkish billet spot market, increased transaction price levels for import scrap and Turkish mills' upward price revisions for export finished steel products have allowed billet prices to move up.

In the meantime, CIS billet offers to Turkey have trended upward as predicted, increasing by $5-10/mt, with prices now ranging at $510-520/mt CFR. Increased price levels for import billet have provided support for the domestic price tendency, though the new import prices have not yet gained acceptance and activity remains on the weak side.

Weekly price movements of different steel products in major markets can be viewed comparatively in the SteelOrbis Historical Steel Prices section. Market trends can thus be seen more clearly, while desired charts can be created and used in reports or presentations.
