SteelOrbis has learned that the wire rod prices in the local Turkish market are showing variation according to the different regions. It is thought that some producers might update their price levels in the coming weeks and that the local price range could stabilize within a certain range.

The current wire rod prices in the local Turkish market are as follows:

Region

      Price

Marmara

      $950/mt

Izmir

      $1,180/mt

Iskenderun

      $1,310/mt

The above prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.

In the event that some mills update their sales price lists in the coming weeks, the abovementioned levels are expected to change. Due to the current instable wire rod prices, the end-users are only booking tonnages in line with their orders/requirements on a daily or weekly basis. It is also heard that some mills are not much eager to conclude sales at the abovementioned prices.
