In response to competitive import tags—for both new and future arrivals—Nucor announced to customers this week that effective immediately, rebar transaction prices will be decreased by $25/nt ($1.25 cwt. or $28/mt). Gerdau sent an immediate response, dropping its own rebar prices by the same amount.

Import sources that Nucor specifically mentioned were Turkey, Japan, Peru, Portugal, and Spain.
