Merchant bar prices in the local Turkish market have this week been continuing their downtrend in a slower manner compared to recent weeks. It seems that the price gap between the various regions has narrowed a bit compared to last week. However, it is observed that no increase has taken place in demand. The merchant bar prices in this market, depending on size, thickness and region, are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 1,310-1,380/mt ($1,106-1,166/mt), 80-100-120 mm IPE are at TRY 1,350-1,430/mt ($1,140-1,209/mt), angles stand at TRY 1,290-1,370/mt ($1,090-1,157/mt), and flat bars and square bars are at TRY 1,300-1,380/mt ($1,098-1,166/mt) - all prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.
