The local Turkish merchant bar producers are maintaining their price levels in line with the strong performance of the billet market. The merchant bar prices as of Friday, April 4, in the local Turkish market, depending on size, thickness and region, are at the following levels: small NPI-NPU are priced at TRY 1,275-1,315/mt ($982-1,012/mt), 100-120 mm IPE at TRY 1,290-1,300/mt ($993-1,001/mt), angles at TRY 1,275-1,315/mt ($982-1,012/mt), flat bars and square bars at TRY 1,305-1,325/mt ($1,005- 1,020/mt) - all prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT. The prices also may differ in the sales price levels of traders (who had previously taken position), which are lower than the mills' levels and depending on ups and downs in the exchange rates of the Turkish lira and other currencies.
