SteelOrbis has been informed that in the local Portuguese market imported 80-160 mm UPN and IPN are being offered at €570-580/mt ($774-788/mt), whereas 140 mm and below sized merchant bars are at the level of €530-540/mt ($720-733/mt) - all prices are for 30-60 day deferred payments, delivery to customer, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.
Merchant bar prices in the Portuguese domestic market have entered an uptrend after the holidays. Merchant bar price increases in Spain (which is the main supplier of merchant bar to Portugal) are indicated as the main factor behind this uptrend.
