Merchant bar and small section prices in the US

Effective with shipments September 10, 2008, Nucor's raw materials surcharge (RMS) is $213 /nt ($10.65 cwt. or $235 /mt), a decrease of $171 /nt ($8.55 cwt. or $189 /mt) from the company's RMS effective August 13, 2008. The company's base prices for merchant bar products have increased by $121 /nt ($6.05 cwt. or $133 /mt), resulting in a $50 /nt ($2.50 cwt. or $55 /mt) decrease in transaction prices for shipments beginning September 10, 2008.

Flat bars

$57.40 cwt ($1,265 /mt or $1,148 /nt)

Square bar

$51.65 cwt ($1,139 /mt or $1,033 /nt)

Round bar

1":

$51.10 cwt ($1,127 /mt or $1,022 /nt)

Channels

Prices above include RMS and are effective to customers.

August 1 RMS:

$22.15 cwt. ($488 /mt or $443 /nt)

August 13 RMS:
