Over the past week, Turkish mills have mostly kept their wire rod prices unchanged, while only raising them slightly in the Iskenderun region against the backdrop of ongoing currency fluctuations.
An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 16,550/mt ($585/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, up TRY 200/mt ($3/mt) on US dollar basis over the past week. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 28.29 for pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally.
Sources report additional discounts of $5-10/mt, are applicable only for serious buyers.
