Turkish mills have raised their official wire rod prices by $3-10/mt in the Marmara and Iskenderun regions, while keeping them unchanged in the rest of the country, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations.

An Iskenderun-based mill issued its official wire rod price at TRY 16,000/mt ($599/mt) ex-works yesterday. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 26.70 for pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally. In addition, one Marmara-based mill has raised its official wire rod price by $10/mt this week, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 27.00, to be on the safe side amid currency fluctuations and the possible hike in energy costs for industrial usage on Friday, September 1.

Kardemir has issued its wire rod price for SAE 1008-1010 grade 6-27 mm at $585/mt ex-works today.
