Turkish mills have raised their official wire rod prices by $5-17/mt in the Iskenderun and Izmir regions amid costlier energy prices for industrial usage effective from October 1, while wire rod prices in the Thrace and Marmara regions have remained unchanged, as compared to Tuesday, September 26. According to sources, a few mills are applying additional discounts, while taking advantage of the ongoing currency fluctuations.

An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 16,350/mt ($595/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 27.50 for pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally.
