Turkish mills have cut their official wire rod prices by $10-25/mt against the backdrop of the negative sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments and sluggish demand. Kardemir’s wire rod sales are still open, with its 6-27 mm wire rod price at $600/mt ex-works.

An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 16,000/mt ($593/mt) ex-works. Another mill in this region has issued its wire rod price at $600/mt ex-works today. One Marmara-based mill has decreased its wire rod price by $10/mt this week. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 26,96 for today's pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally.

Most suppliers are offering for August delivery, while a limited tonnage is available from stocks. Most local buyers are maintaining a wait-and-see stance ahead of the Turkish Central Bank's interest rate decision due on Thursday, July 20.
