Latest situation in Spanish rebar market

According to market sources, rebar prices in the Spanish domestic market have remained unchanged over the past two weeks at €460-470/mt ($626-639/mt) delivered, excluding 21 percent VAT. Meanwhile, ex-Spain rebar offers have decreased by €10/mt ($14/mt) in the same period and are currently at €430-440/mt ($585-598/mt) FOB.
 
On the other hand, ex-Spain rebar offers to Algeria have softened by €5/mt ($7/mt) over the given period and are now at €455-460/mt ($619-626/mt) CFR. Market sources state that new rebar deals from Spain to Algeria may be concluded this week, while demand for imported rebar in Algeria is strongly expected to improve before Ramadan which this year starts at the end of June.
