Domestic merchant bar prices in Turkey which had moved up since December 22 until the beginning of the current week due to the fluctuations recorded in the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate have declined this week amid the decreases seen in import scrap and billet quotations and also due to the weakness of demand. Despite the decline in prices seen in the current week, domestic merchant bar prices in Turkey are still TRY 95-130/mt higher than the price levels recorded on December 22.
