Domestic merchant bar prices in the local Turkish market have continued their upward movement with the influence of the rising trend in import scrap and billet quotations which started at the beginning of October and have recorded sharp increases especially during the past week.
Although demand for merchant bar in the local Turkish market has revived slightly over the past two weeks with buyers accepting higher domestic prices, the mood among buyers has become somewhat more cautious due to the sharp depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar.
