Lack of demand in Spanish wire rod market, sellers willing to negotiate

SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that local wire rod prices in Spain have softened by €5/mt ($7/mt) over the past two weeks to €490-495/mt ($666-673/mt) delivered. Meanwhile, Spanish mesh and drawing quality wire rod export offers have remained stable since last week at €470/mt ($639/mt) FOB and €485/mt ($660/mt) FOB respectively. Market players state that demand is weak and that sellers are willing to conclude deals below these levels.
