Kardemir increases rebar prices

With its new price list dated February 12, 2009, Turkish steel producer Kardemir has increased its domestic sales prices for rebars of 12-22 mm diameter.

Accordingly, Kardemir today opened its domestic sales for 12-22 mm diameter rebar at the price level of TRY 860.22/mt ($446.44/mt + VAT) ex-works and including 18 percent VAT, up TRY 15.34/mt ($39.63/mt + VAT) for 1,000 mt and above orders, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral. Meanwhile, at the same date from the same producer S235JR grade (St 37) billets of 130 mm × 130 mm x 6-12 m size have been opened to sale at the price level of TRY 729.24/mt including VAT ($378.36/mt excluding VAT).
