SteelOrbis has been informed that today, May 24, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has issued its official mesh grade wire rod price at TRY 13,000/mt ($654/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, falling by TRY 150/mt ($9/mt) compared to Monday, May 22, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and the unclear financial situation in the country. Moreover, the mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 15,050/mt ($641/mt) ex-works today, falling by TRY 100/mt ($6/mt) over the same period. VAT is taken as 18 percent. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 19.89 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
