Iskenderun-based Turkish mill raises its rebar price

SteelOrbis has been informed that today, August 15, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has kept its official mesh grade wire rod price stable at TRY 15,500/mt ($573/mt), ex-works, excluding VAT. The mill issued its rebar price at TRY 18,750/mt ($577/mt) this afternoon, rising by TRY 100/mt ($2/mt) from the previous day amid the ongoing currency fluctuations. Sources report the mill succeeded in selling some tonnage at TRY 18,650/mt ($574/mt) ex-works earlier today, though the final tonnage has not been confirmed by the time of publication. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 27.06 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.

Sources report that today around 10,000 mt of rebar has been traded at TRY 19,000/mt ($585/mt) ex-works in the Izmir region, while around 1,000 mt of rebar has been traded at TRY 19,100/mt ($588/mt) ex-works in the Marmara region. Moreover, one Izmir-based mill issued its rebar price at TRY 18,850/mt ($580/mt) ex-works earlier today and closed its rebar sales in the afternoon, SteelOrbis has heard.
