According to market sources, rebar prices in the local Turkish spot market have moved downwards since December 21. Market players have reduced their rebar offers further amid weak demand conditions and due to the slight strengthening of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Also, today, January 25, Turkish producer Icdas announced a downward revision of its local rebar offers. Accordingly, Icdas' 12-32 mm rebar prices in Turkey's Marmara region are at TRY 1,008/mt ($334/mt) + VAT ex-works, while its rebar prices in Biga, Canakkale in northwestern Turkey are at TRY 992/mt ($328/mt) + VAT ex-works.
