Downtrend in Turkish merchant bar producers’ export prices

According to market sources, Turkish merchant bar producers’ export prices have decreased by $10-20/mt over the past week, excluding flat bar prices which have moved sideways. Meanwhile, producers are still offering discounts of $10/mt in negotiations. Market players state that demand for IPN-UPN and IPE products is somewhat livelier compared to demand for angles and flat bars which remains slack. However, the main reason for the sideways movement of flat bar prices is the limited production of flat bars in Turkey.
