Demand in the local Turkish rebar market has slowed down during the past week and is currently at low levels amid slower construction activities during Ramadan and also as market players are waiting for an announcement regarding the margin of the planned reduction in the customs duty on rebar imports. Under these circumstances, domestic rebar prices have continued to fall, declining by TRY 30-50/mt since June 1. Meanwhile, buyers are expected to maintain their wait-and-see stance until the details of the customs duty reduction are clarified.
